WebbFest FAQ

WebbFest is a three-day, campus-wide celebration that includes pre-WebbFest lunchtime activities and dress-out days on Wednesday through Friday. WebbFest culminates on Friday with an all-school carnival, BBQ dinner, and “Rock the Clock,” featuring Upper School student performers (open to all). The primary goal of WebbFest is to enrich the sense of connection and community among the students, faculty, staff, families, and friends of Webb School.

Each year, our community-wide WebbFest focuses on a theme. This year’s celebration is 80s themed.

The WebbFest Carnival will take place Friday, September 29, from 3:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This, fun-for-all event is held on the Middle School soccer field, just behind the Central Building’s new entrance and next to the Lower School.

MORE CARNIVAL INFORMATION: During the carnival, Lower School students are not supervised by Webb faculty/staff; parents/families are responsible for supervising their children. The carnival begins immediately after school and wraps up just in time to grab dinner at the BBQ at the Bistro. It is open to all Webb families, although a section of the midway games and one inflatable are designated for our youngest students.

The carnival features over 25 midway games in addition to several large inflatables, a robotics booth, and a Spartan Spirit tent (think hair chalk and face painting)! The midway foods tent is a popular place for after-school snacks like pizza, candy, and snow cones. For students who earn tickets playing carnival games, two gift shops (one for Lower School, one for Middle School) offer fun trading spots for gift shop finds!

Tickets are used by all students to participate in Friday’s carnival games/activities or to buy food during the carnival. Games/activities and food items range from one to four tickets each. Middle School students may use tickets for a chance to win a raffle basket during lunch on Wednesday and Thursday of WebbFest week. Upper and Middle School students can also use tickets for the Bake Sale during lunch on Wednesday through Friday. Bake Sale items range from one to four tickets each. Cash may also be used to purchase baked goods.

Middle and Upper School students can purchase tickets outside the Bishop Center during lunch, Wednesday through Friday of WebbFest week. Lower School students received an order form via email on September 8 to pre-purchase tickets by Friday, September 22. Lower School students will receive their pre-purchased tickets in envelopes the day of the carnival, Friday, September 29. Tickets can also be bought during the carnival at the tent in the middle of the soccer field. Tickets are sold in bundles of 10 for $5.00 per bundle and can be purchased with cash or charged to students’ school accounts.

Parking for the carnival/BBQ dinner is available in campus parking lots and along campus roads.  

The WebbFest BBQ at the Bistro dinner is scheduled for Friday, September 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Central Building’s Spartan Bistro. You can order your BBQ dinner tickets online by clicking here.

The cost for the WebbFest BBQ dinner is $12 per person (free for kids under 5 years of age). Thanks to generous donations from Calhoun’s and Sodexo, meals include a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, mac and cheese, chips, cookie, and a drink. Our WebbFest “Rock the Clock” is an outdoor concert featuring Upper School student performers. The stage is set up near the fountain on the Founders’ Commons, directly across from Webb’s Talbott Clock Tower – hence the name, “Rock the Clock.” Everyone is welcome. The music gets underway at 3:15 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the awesome talent of our Upper School students!

Yes. We ordered a few extra WebbFest T-shirts. Come to the tent in the middle of the field to purchase your shirt(s) before they run out. The cost for the WebbFest T-shirts will be $20 each, payable by cash or student account. Also, feel free to reach out to our WebbFest T-shirt coordinator, Gillian Ferguson, at shirts@webbfest.com to purchase your shirt before the carnival.

We need a lot of Upper School students to help run the games at Friday's carnival. Students can sign up for one of two shifts (or both) on X2VOL. Their volunteer hours at the carnival count toward their school service hours.

We make it easy for you to drop off your WebbFest Bake Sale items! You don’t even have to get out of your car. During Tuesday through Thursday of WebbFest week, each division will have a table set up outside, where you can drop off your treats during the carpool line. Your student can just drop off your goodies as they get out of the car. If you have an Upper Schooler who drives to school, please have him/her bring your donation to the Upper School circle.

The students love all goodies. “Puppy chow,” cookies, brownies, and Chex Mix are especially big sellers. Please package your treats in individual servings. We sell most treats for 50 cents (e.g., one cookie) or $1.00 (e.g., one extra-large brownie or one bag of “puppy chow”), so please keep that in mind when packaging. Please label your donations as gluten-free, dairy-free, or nut-free.

Everyone! While the bake sale is open to all Middle and Upper School students, faculty, and staff, most of the donations actually come from the Lower School. (Thank you to our Lower School families for setting the volunteer bar high!)

Both! Students can purchase tickets for the bake sale (10 tickets for $5.00) right inside the Central Building across from the Bishop Center during lunch, Wednesday and Thursday of WebbFest week. Students can also use cash to purchase the baked items.

Just like our WebbFest Bake Sale, we make it easy for you! You won’t have to get out of your car; during Tuesday through Thursday of WebbFest week, each division will have a table set up outside where you can drop off your Cake Walk or Cake Auction items during the carpool line. Your student can just drop them off as they get out of the car. If you have an Upper Schooler who drives to school, please have him/her bring your donation to the Upper School circle.

Please label your donation as “Cake Walk” or “Cake Auction”. Since we have very little cold storage and the Cake Walk is held outside, please do not send in items that need refrigeration.

WHAT IS THE CAKE AUCTION?
The annual WebbFest Cake Auction is a fun highlight for faculty and staff. All types of baked goods (specialty cakes, breads, cinnamon rolls, etc.) are included in a silent auction that happens during lunch on carnival day. Webb faculty and staff have the opportunity to bid on delectable goodies that parents provide. Please consider donating your special treat to our Cake Auction for Webb faculty and staff to enjoy!

You can show your support of WebbFest by sponsoring carnival games and inflatables, donating items for the bake sale and Cake Walk, purchasing tickets for the BBQ dinner and carnival, and buying WebbFest T-shirts. Most of the money raised goes to offset the cost of the carnival. All additional funds help support Webb’s Annual Fund.
