Camp Webb

Camps Offered

At Camp Webb there is a lesson to be learned around every corner – at the top of the climbing wall, on the archery range, walking along a wooded trail, on the basketball court. All of these lessons help prepare your children to make better life decisions while they’re having fun.

Our very own Webb School teachers direct many of these programs, as well as local leaders from community organizations. Whether your camper is into Music, Theater, Arts, Cooking, Sewing, Coding, Engineering, Science, Crafting, Pirates, Wizards, or Jedi’s™… there is bound to be a camp that will help them explore their interests!

Camp Wonderoo

If you’re looking for a camp featuring lots of fun for 4-year-olds, our Camp Wonderoo is for you! This camp is the perfect way to introduce your preschooler to the day camp experience. We limit enrollment so that we meet a 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratio. The “Wonderoo Crew” includes Webb Lower School faculty, local teachers and mature, college-age students. Campers explore the world during a week filled with a rotating schedule of activities appropriate for 4-year-olds. Activities include story time, arts & crafts, water play outside, lunch in the Spartan Bistro, songs, snack, and free play. All campers must be fully toilet-trained and not entering kindergarten the following school year. Hours for Camp Wonderoo are 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aftercare is not provided for this camp.

Enrichment Camp

At Camp Webb, our summer Enrichment Camps offer a jump-start into Middle School for students entering the 6th grade in the fall of 2019. These courses are open to Webb and non-Webb students who seek to extend their learning beyond the school year and prepare for the middle school experience. Best of all, each weeklong institute is thoughtfully designed and taught by a selection of Webb Middle School faculty members.

Enrichment Camp hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Cost: $200 per week.
Note: No aftercare will be provided for these sessions.

This year, we offer two weeks to choose from:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
Dates: July 15-19 (Week 6)
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages: Entering 6th grade
Instructor: David Haines

This 5-day program includes the development of reading and writing skills in preparation for literature, as well as other disciplines. Students will read, discuss and compose short pieces about topics of current interest, biographies and brief narratives, concentrating on the essentials of critical reading and reflection. Focused practice of vocabulary and language skills contribute to a student’s overall success in preparation for 6th grade. The program will also designate time to manage a student’s summer reading requirements. Feedback from brief diagnostics taken on the first day will allow for differentiation with respect to content and pace.

STUDY SKILLS & MIDDLE SCHOOL READINESS
Dates: July 22-26 (Week 7)
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages: Entering 6th grade
Instructors: Ellen Schnoll & Heather Eastwood

This camp is designed to acclimate students to a middle school environment and help improve basic study skills. A variety of topics will be covered and include: traits of a good student, active learning, test prep skills, test-taking skills, reading text, organizing materials, and study space, time management, keeping track of assignments, and knowing when to get help. Jump into Study Skills and be better prepared for the first day of school – and a successful school year.
