Webb’s Lauren Yoon Commits to Play Tennis at Emory University
Webb School of Knoxville senior Lady Spartan tennis standout Lauren Yoon has committed to play tennis at Emory University. Family, friends, teammates, faculty, and staff gathered in the Lee Athletic Center lobby, January 23, for a recognition ceremony for Yoon.
A member of Webb’s varsity girls’ tennis team since eighth grade, Yoon helped propel her Lady Spartans to a historic eighth consecutive Division II-A state team championship this past season – a state record. She also dominated in the state singles competition, winning all three of her matches in straight sets to take the state DII-A singles title.
A multiple PrepXtra Tennis First Team, All-KIL and TSWRA All-State selection, Yoon was named 2015 PrepXtra Girls Tennis Player of the Year as a freshman.
