The idea of Webb Dance Academy became a topic of discussion in 2010 after a series of small events, including a Webb Lower School flashmob during the talent show, as well as surveys conducted to discover both parent and student interest. Beginning in 2012, “Let’s Dance” performance classes taught by Christy Conley-Short in the International Center were offered as an after-school club for Webb students, grades K-5. For two years, Webb Lower School student dancers performed three times per year for a total of six performances. The final performance in May 2014 introduced Webb Dance Academy as a true entity.
With two state-of-the art dance studios in Webb's Haslam Center, the Webb Dance Academy provides more than 20 class offerings for K-12 students enrolled at Webb, as well as for parents and siblings.
Webb Dance Academy is excited to share a love of dance with you and your family. The Academy is committed to showing every one of our students that hard work produces achievement, and with practice and dance experience, genuine self-esteem develops from the accomplishment of engaging in new and challenging skills.
The Mission of Webb Dance Academy is to nurture a close-knit community of intellectually curious and artistically daring movement practitioners while preparing students for future success through educational, physical, and artistic dance.
