Independent education plays a distinctive role in the Knoxville community and East Tennessee, guiding our young people as they strive to reach their highest potential. Webb School of Knoxville continues to be central to this task.
Like almost all independent schools, Webb must rely on charitable contributions from the school community and endowment income in order to enhance the educational experience, fulfill our mission to provide a top-flight college preparatory program, and maintain flexibility in the operating budget. All donations to Webb are welcome, appreciated, and tax-deductible.
Since its founding in 1955, Webb School of Knoxville has operated as a not-for-profit charitable organization. Now incorporated under federal and state laws as a 501c (3) tax exempt organization, Webb School receives no federal or state government funding.
The Webb School Development Office Mission Statement reads:
“To enhance the learning experience in the classroom by developing maximum voluntary support outside the classroom. Support may be defined as financial, material, volunteer, or intellectual resources. More simply, we advance the mission of Webb School by gathering work, wealth, and wisdom."
