  • About Our Learning Center

Our Upper School Learning Center is available for individual and small group study
throughout the day. The Center also serves as a low-stress space for completing assignments and tests. Three desktop computers and a printer are available for student use.

"In our Learning Center," explains director Deb Hotchkiss, "I’m able to help students better understand their learning styles, strengths, and challenges, as well as address their organizational skills, completion of assignments, understanding of and memory for lectures and text, and successful test taking. I frequently assist students with the development of interactive reading skills, reading fluency, and successful note taking."

For Upper School students who have academic/testing accommodations through an
Individualized Learning Plan, the following accommodations are available: testing in a quiet setting, testing with extended time, and/or oral testing.

While many of our students begin their high school years with a need for substantial
assistance with organizational and study skills, the goal at the Center is for them to develop increased self esteem, self-advocacy, and academic success as they reach their junior and senior years, and beyond.
