Twenty-One Webb Seniors Named to Mu Alpha Theta Society for Excellence in Math

Webb School of Knoxville’s Upper School math department recently recognized its newest inductees to the Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society. Mu Alpha Theta is the national high school and two-year college mathematics honor society with more than 124,000 student members in some 2,600 schools in the United States and 23 countries abroad.

Dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high schools, Mu Alpha Theta offers more than $300,000 in scholarships, grants, awards, and prizes, annually.

At Webb School, students are selected annually from the senior class based on their efforts in reaching a level of excellence in mathematics, as well as their outstanding performances as demonstrated in their coursework.
