Spartan Students Earn High Marks on National Latin Exam

Over 30 Webb Middle and Upper School students earned scores to qualify for an award on the 2020 National Latin Exam – representing more than 63 percent of all students studying Latin at Webb. Spartan Upper School Latin scholars also put in top performances at this year’s Tennessee Junior Classical League Convention.

Webb Robotics Team #1466 Makes School History with Two FIRST Blue Banner Awards

While FIRST high school robotics teams across the country and around the world had their 2020 competition seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Webb’s Robotics Team #1466 still garnered high accolades for this year and made school history by earning two FIRST blue banner honors – its first-ever Chairman’s Award and the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award.

Webb Students Take “Spartan Strong” Motto to Heart in Serving Others During COVID-19 Crisis

As the Webb School community navigated the effects of the COVID-19 global pandemic, “Spartan Strong” became the motto for the Webb community to come together to support and connect with each other, and to ensure a quality education at a distance. "Spartan Strong" also became the inspiration behind many Webb students’ desire to help make a difference in the lives of others and in their community amidst this unprecedented challenge.

For more than 50 years, Webb’s Upper School “A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE" Special Awards Day has honored students who have demonstrated exemplary character and achievement in the classroom, on the playing field, and in the community. Webb continued this time-honored tradition with a virtual celebration of this year’s award winners.

Webb’s Upper School continued its tradition of recognizing and celebrating students who have demonstrated exceptional scholastic achievement in English, mathematics, science, social studies, visual and performing arts, and world languages with a virtual presentation of this year’s “A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE" Subject Awards Day.

Annual Don Tarvin Awards Celebrate Faculty, Staff for Exemplary Leadership, Service

Each year, Webb School recognizes the contributions and talents of Webb faculty and staff with the presentation of the Donald L. Tarvin Award. The Tarvin Award is given to faculty and staff members who in their daily relationships with students, parents, peers, and the community exemplify the qualities of moral, ethical and spiritual leadership that Webb School seeks to impart to its students. Webb School President Michael McBrien honored this year’s winners via a virtual presentation. This year’s winners are Caroline Baker, Blake Herrin, Lindsey Whitsett, and Mary Newell.

Webb Families Invited to Partner with Local Organization to Provide Homemade Face Masks
  • School Events

Several members of the Webb School community are making homemade cotton face masks to help extend the life of the N95 masks that are so greatly needed by medical staff and patients; and are working with Knoxville Makes Masks. Knoxville Makes Masks invites volunteers to sew, provide materials, and deliver masks to local medical facilities, and allows medical workers to request masks.
