Several Spartan student-athletes earned All-State and All-5Star Preps honors for their performances during the fall 2019 season. Webb School proudly congratulates all of our Spartan athletes for their efforts this year.
Spartan swimmer Michael McClamroch signed with University of Notre Dame, November 25. A two-time All-State performer, McClamroch took eighth in both the boys’ 50-yard and 100-yard free at the 2019 TISCA Tennessee High School Swimming and Diving Championship. An AP Scholar with Honor and member of Webb’s National Honor Society, McClamroch is a USA Swimming Futures Qualifier in the 50-yard free.
Senior outside hitter Leoni Kunz signed with Stony Brook University, November 21. The four-year letter winner was a key player in the Lady Spartans’ volleyball dynasty that included six straight Division II-A state titles. She helped lead Webb to a 35-7 record in 2018 and a state championship six-peat, and was selected to the DII-A TSWA All-State Team. She is also a 2019 All-Region Team and All-District Second Team selection.
Spartan All-State swimmer Emma Martin signed with University of Richmond, November 25. Martin took fourth in the 200-yard IM at last year’s TISCA Tennessee State Swimming and Diving Championships, and was a nominee for 2019 Girls’ PrepXtra Swimmer of the Year. An AP Scholar with Honor, Martin is a USA Swimming Futures Qualifier in the 400 IM, 200 IM and 200 fly.
Senior Spartan Harrison Williams has committed to play tennis at Samford University. A four-year All-State player, Williams played a key role in his Spartans grabbing their third straight DII-A state team championship in 2019, and along with doubles partner Ben Aikens ’19, won the DII-A boys’ state individual doubles title. Williams won the boys’ state individual singles crown his freshman year and as a sophomore, he was named Boys Tennis Player of the Year at the Knox News Sports Awards.
Senior Spartan guard Luke Burnett signed with University of Alabama in Huntsville, November 19. An All-District. All-Region Tournament Team selection and District and Region tournament MVP, Burnett helped carry his Spartan basketball team to its first ever DII-A state championship in 2019. The All-State player averaged just over 13 points per game in the 19 games he played last season.
Senior Spartan pitcher Mason Patel signed with Georgia State University, November 14. A two-time All-District player, he completed last season with a 1.05 ERA that included 5 wins, 2 losses and 2 saves. He accumulated 70 strikeouts in 46.2 innings pitched, earning both All-Region and District Golden Glove Award honors along the way.
For the first time in program history, Webb School plays another field hockey team from Tennessee – the Ravenwood High School Field Hockey Club of Nashville.
