These words – drawn from the Middle School S.T.A.R.T. pledge – reflect the values that shape the culture of Webb’s Middle School. Each morning, the pledge is lived out as students and teachers gather for Morning Assembly, a longstanding tradition that builds community and sets a purposeful, positive tone for the day ahead. Students sit with their Advisories while eighth grade leaders guide everyone through the Pledge of Allegiance, the S.T.A.R.T. pledge, school announcements, and moments of reflection. Rooted in shared ideals, Morning Assembly cultivates connection, accountability, and a deep sense of belonging that carries through every part of the day.

The Middle School’s academic classes engage students to think critically, ask bold questions, and make meaningful connections across disciplines. Alongside core courses like math, science, literature, and composition, students study a world language, choosing from French, Latin, or Spanish as part of their daily schedule. Guided by passionate, skilled teachers who know when to challenge and when to support, students are pushed to stretch their thinking in a learning environment that is both rigorous and deeply rewarding.

Lunch in the Spartan Bistro is an opportunity to refuel, catch up, and reset. In partnership with Sodexo, students enjoy a variety of healthy, kid-friendly meals prepared by our professional on-site chef and food service manager. Whether they choose to dine inside or take advantage of the Bistro’s outdoor seating, there’s always something to satisfy and nourish – from fresh salads and made-from-scratch sandwiches to options that are a bit more adventurous.

While the food is a big part of what’s great about lunchtime at Webb, this midday pause also offers a welcome break for students to catch up with friends, attend club meetings, or head outside or to the gym to relax, play, and recharge for the rest of the day.
 

Wellness classes play a vital role in the Middle School experience, helping students develop strength, coordination, and lifelong habits for physical and emotional health. Held every other day, these sessions blend physical activity with age-appropriate lessons on topics such as nutrition, mindfulness, and teamwork, each thoughtfully designed to support the whole student.

Additionally, students choose three yearlong electives that inspire exploration beyond core academics. These discovery-driven courses – including  art, chorus, band, and theater arts – offer students the chance to pursue personal interests, build new skills, and express themselves in creative, impactful ways.

As the academic day winds down, students have time built into their schedules to pause, reflect, and seek support. This daily dedicated help session provides the perfect opportunity to ask questions, revisit material, and engage with teachers for more direct assistance. Whether reviewing a math concept, getting feedback on a paper, or preparing for an upcoming assessment, this time reflects Webb’s commitment to meeting each student where they are in their learning journey.

It’s also a chance to get organized, touch base with advisors when needed, and leave the day feeling confident and ready to take on what lies ahead.

With their lockers closed and books set aside, Middle Schoolers can turn their attention to after-school athletics and cocurriculars that help instill qualities like character, leadership, and teamwork while empowering them to discover and refine their talents and interests. From joining a Spartan sports team to rehearsing for the school musical to competing in robotics, students are inspired to step up, push beyond their comfort zones, and grow through doing.

Middle School athletics focus on participation, skill-building, and sportsmanship. Coaches provide inclusive spaces where students of all ability levels can learn, compete, and contribute. For those not on a team or in a club that day, the Middle School’s after-care program offers a safe, supervised environment for students to wrap up their day.
