Lower School Aftercare Program Director

Reports to: Aftercare Director

Position Overview:

Webb School of Knoxville is seeking an Aftercare Program Director to serve as an onsite manager of our after-school care with children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and associated staff. The responsibilities of this position include the day-to-day operations of Aftercare: oversee and coordinate the programming for the afternoon childcare offerings, supervise and schedule the Aftercare team of employees, communicate effectively with parents, and assist with the attendance for staff and students. The Aftercare Program Director will work closely with the Aftercare Director and Lower School administration.

The Aftercare Program Director must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to communicate and relate well to both children and adults. This person should maintain a professional appearance at all times and have the ability to provide leadership and stability for the program. 

Qualifications:

• a bachelor’s degree and have prior employment/experience in a school-based environment
• experience and enthusiasm for working with children in grades PK-5
• a passion for fostering a creative learning environment with young students
• a flexible and team-oriented approach with proven ability to be a self-motivator
• experience managing a team of staff
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• exceptional organizational skills
• commitment to uphold confidentiality
• understanding of the developmental needs of youth
• working knowledge of Google Drive applications
• experience in behavior management and incident response
• the capability and comfort level to connect and communicate with students, families, faculty, and administrators 
• understanding of school: mission, philosophy, day-to-day operations
• pass a background check

Details:

• The position consists of 20 average hours per week with more hours occurring during In-Service/Conference days
  • Aftercare program (occurs weekdays during school year approximately; 2-6 p.m.)
  • In-Service/Conference days (approximately 11 full days per school year; 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.)
