2012 Camp Webb Offerings will be posted online in late February.

Thank you for visiting our web site. Here you will find loads of information about our many programs, staff, and much more. You may also register online!

Before you read about the new sports and specialty camps we are offering this year, or before you get excited about the giant “swingshot” on the Adventure Camp’s ropes course, I encourage you to read this page to help you understand our program, so that you feel comfortable about having your child spend time growing in the Camp Webb community this summer.

Can you believe it? We've been having fun for 50 years!

Camp Webb’s history began the summer of 1960, a year after Webb School of Knoxville moved to its current location. Back then, the structure of the program was different; campers enjoyed archery, riflery, crafts, canoeing, and water skiing! In today’s program, we can’t ride the waves as campers did in the ’60s, but the ideals and goals remain the same. After spending some time with one of the original directors, we discussed how Camp Webb’s objectives – to have a good time, respect each other, and encourage learning and independence – are as true today as they were 50 years ago.

I believe wholeheartedly in the value of the summer camp experience. There is a purpose behind everything we do at Camp Webb. We are very deliberate about providing an environment where campers feel safe, form positive relationships with other kids and adults, and are continually learning. You’ll be amazed at what your children can discover at camp. There is a lesson to be learned around every corner – at the top of the climbing wall, on the archery range, walking along a wooded trail, on the basketball court. All of these lessons help prepare your children to make better life decisions...while they’re having fun. Sneaky, eh?

Camp Webb’s current mission statement is: Camp Webb is a summer camp community where young people can safely experience personal growth and development by participating in fun and educational programs alongside peers, and under the guidance of a staff of responsible young adults and professional educators.

Camp Webb is shaped by the leaders we have running our programs. Professional educators and local artisans lead our Specialty Camps. Our Sports Camps have some of the highest quality coaches in the area, including current and former professional players and coaches. The Adventure Camp staff is a team of responsible, creative, mature, fun-loving young adults who have been through an extensive training program with me. All of these people are here because they want to influence children in a positive manner.

Thank you for considering Camp Webb for your child this summer. I hope you feel confident about the ideals that form the foundation of our program. Our website is chock-full of information about the exciting summer we have planned. I’m sure that you’ll find programs that your child will enjoy. We are introducing a bunch of new camps along with many of the traditional favorites.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the Camp Webb experience.

2011 Camp Webb Parents - We Want Your Feedback!

"My son has attended Camp Webb, at least one session, now for 4 or 5 years. He enjoyed the staff, the camp, his new friends, new and exciting challenges, the environment, and just having fun! Thank you for fulfilling so many of our wishes... and especially my son's expectations! He will attend next year and hopefully, one day, will be a part of your camp staff as he continues to grow!"
