Webb School encourages its students to participate in the athletic program by offering more than 60 teams in 27 different interscholastic sports (13 boys, 14 girls), which compete at the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels. Over 70 percent of our students in grades 6 through 12 participate in our athletic program each year; many are involved in more than one sport. Student-athletes at Webb are also strongly encouraged to participate in the full array of non-athletic experiences available to them.
Webb’s outstanding athletic facilities include three gymnasiums, six playing fields, a 400-meter track, and a tennis complex that includes three indoor and five outdoor courts. Those six fields support football, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and softball. These quality facilities were designed to meet our twofold goal of being both a highly competitive athletic program and a program where participation is prized.
The Webb School athletic philosophy is to provide students with the opportunity both to participate in, and excel at, a wide variety of athletic experiences.
Learning and practicing life skills like hard work, discipline, teamwork, and leadership are all at the heart of our athletic program. Acquiring these attributes is made possible through and enhanced, in large part, through relationships between coaches and athletes, and among the athletes themselves.
