 | In the Lower School, the emphasis of the teaching and learning revolves around "brain-compatible" learning and the multiple intelligences, a philosophy that reflects a modern understanding of the human brain and how people learn. This philosophy permeates the classroom at all grade levels and in all disciplines.
In that context, there is particular emphasis in the Lower School on the acquisition of language skills and problem-solving skills that transcend any specific discipline. The Lower School experience is seen as a time to explore the arts, science and technology as well as the traditional core of reading, writing and mathematics. We emphasize collaboration and cooperation in study and an integrated, hands-on, project-based orientation to learning.
